Diversity, equity and inclusion for the 2021 Annual Literature Award

The Annual Literature Award Committee held a discussion after the meeting in which the committee chose the award books for 2020.  For this coming year the committee is hopeful that the nominators will consider some new aspects when choosing books to nominate.

2020 has helped us believe we should all try harder to honor diversity, equity and inclusion.  We also believe these concepts intersect with the current science of climate change.

For this year’s nominations the committee encourages the nominators to include language in the nomination form about how the book helps bring these topics forward.
